Welcome to our General Oncology Rehab Certification - an established resource for healthcare practitioners committed to beginning or expanding their knowledge and skills in oncology rehabilitation. This comprehensive 3-course curriculum is a hybrid experience with self-paced online modules and 4.5 hours of live-interactive advanced case study review and discussion. During the live-interactive portion, you will have the unique opportunity to ask questions to our highly knowledgeable, skilled master clinician/instructors.

Certification Requirements

  • Completion of our 3 course curriculum including 4.5 hours of live-interactive advanced case study review and discussion.
  • Applicants must pass a computer-generated multiple-choice exam with 80% or better.
  • Upon completion of all coursework, the applicant will demonstrate the integration of knowledge during a 1.5 -hour live complex case-study assessment.

Instructor's

OTR/L, CLT, CLWT Lisa Marshall

With more than 33 years of healthcare experience, Lisa has focused primarily on oncology for the past 28 years. In 2002, she founded Specialty Rehabilitation Inc. (SRI), where she developed and provided oncology programs and services -- prehabilitation through palliation -- for all cancer types. Lisa's areas of expertise include the management of breast cancer, oncology lymphedema, cancer-related fatigue, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, cancer-related cognitive impairments, cancers of the head and neck, and oncology pelvic floor dysfunction. She is lymphedema certified, a national presenter, and a regular presenter at major healthcare institutions and universities. Today, SRI provides oncology education and consulting for; individual healthcare professionals, cancer centers, community hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home care agencies.

DPT, PhD, CLWT Erin Helm

Erin acted as director of oncology rehabilitation for a large cancer center prior to joining SRI in 2021 to provide consulting and educational development. Erin also serves as adjunct faculty at Widener University, providing Oncology Rehabilitation education and continues to provide physical therapy services to individuals with cancer. She is primary author of four peer-reviewed articles and recently received the 2021 American Physical Therapy Association’s Oncology Stephen Gudas Award for Outstanding Publication in Rehabilitation Oncology.

  • What if I'm not sure certification is right for me?

    We understand not everyone is ready to be certified. You can take the courses a' la carte and purchase a separate certification later. If you choose this option, you'll have two years to complete certification. The cost of a separate certification is $250.00 after coursework is complete.

  • How long will I have to complete all the requirments?

    You will have 6 months from your enrollment date.

  • Why do I need a certification?

    The current trend in continuing education is for certification. Certification adds value to your professional development and is desired by employers.

  • Who is this course for?

    This certification is designed for OT's, OTA's, PT's, PTA's and healthcare practitioners who want to make a difference in your community and treat an underserved population.

  • What is the course format?

    The course content is delivered through a combination of self-paced learning modules, quizzes, interactive case study review and live discussion via Zoom

  • When are the Zoom sessions held?

    Zoom sessions are as follows:
    Intro to Oncology - The Cancer Experience - Held the 3rd Monday of every month 8 to 9:30 pm EST

    Advanced Oncology Rehabilitation Held the 2nd Tuesday of every month 8 to 9:30 pm EST

  • My state is not listed under approved CEU's what should I do?

  • What if I miss a Zoom session, can I advance to the next section?

    No, you must complete Zoom sessions after each section. The Zoom sessions allow participants to demonstrate the integration of knowledge and ask questions before advancing to the next level.
