Course Description

This intermediate-level course is designed for therapists with basic understanding of oncology rehabilitation. It is suitable for both pelvic floor specialists and non-pelvic floor therapists, as well as CLT's and CLWT's. The course provides a concise overview of cancer as a chronic condition, including its staging, grading, treatment methods, and associated side effects. It delves into the impact of pelvic region cancers on pelvic floor dysfunction, covering both local and systemic treatment approaches. The course emphasizes the role of rehabilitation in addressing the side effects of medical treatments, such as lymphedema risks, cancer-related fatigue, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, musculoskeletal issues, pain, sleep disturbances, and specific side effects related to pelvic floor dysfunction. These topics are explored within the context of a multidisciplinary team approach.
